Good luck to all the Omaha Nation students who are participating in LNI this week.

Attention Omaha Nation Chief Fans if you are looking for new Chief apparel to wear for LNI or a last minute Christmas gift, we have you covered. Stop by and ask to see Ms. Fada.

About 20 years ago I was serving as the Chief Negotiator for the Macy Education Association. We had scheduled a meeting which needed to be rescheduled and the announcement went out late. I somehow missed it and showed up for the meeting. Bertram Walker, who was serving as negotiator for the school, also missed the message and showed up. We were the only two there. I hardly knew him but he had a way to make you feel comfortable by just talking about everyday things. These things may seem unimportant but when they pile up they become obstacles to overcome within the school and life, he made me see that. We ended up spending around 45 minutes talking about Macy, school and life in general. I learned more from him in that short time than I ever did in any of my education classes. What I learned from him was real, relevant and having an effect on everything we were doing. Mr. Walker was an asset to the school and the community he will be missed by all.

The themes ranged from family, to pets, to sports and hobbies. They are doing a wonderful job using art and poetry to reflect on their learning.
