We would like to congratulate Mrs. Sandra Pearson for being the recipient of the culture keeper award for the month of November. The culture keeper award is based off of three criteria. 1. High Expectations 2. Positive Attitude 3. Solution Focused. Thank you again Mrs. Pearson for always doing a wonderful job with our high school students.
Omaha Nation staff had some fun dressing up and getting into the Halloween spirit.
Omaha Nation high school was chosen as a spotlight article in the Nebraska School Activities Association.
Today we were visited by our future students from head start. The students came and showed off their Halloween costumes and went trick or treating throughout the school.

Last Friday, we celebrated our Principal Award Winners for the month of October. These honorees were nominated by their teachers for their commitment to excellence in the classroom and conducing themselves safely, responsibly, and respectfully in the classroom. Congratulations!

The Lady Chiefs will be playing Walthill in the first round of volleyball districts at 5:00 Monday October 28th in Oakland. Come out and support your Lady Chiefs!
Tonight's volleyball match against Walthill will be Varsity only. Parents Night will begin at 6:00 pm followed by the Varsity contest.
MSPI is changing its name to SASSP. There after school activities are about to begin at the family resource center. They will be doing some sewing, bead work, and discussing different social/emotional topics as well. If you have a student between the ages of 14-24 and you want them to learn more about how to prevent substance abuse and why life matters the Omaha way, then call (402)837-5391 ext 502. You can sign up for activities at the family resource center in Macy or with Tracy at the tribal building.
Students in middle school science took their learning outside of the classroom to recognize examples of kinetic and potential energy. Students were able to make connections between force, motion, and energy as well as constructing a science experiment about force, motion, and energy. During the experiment students made predictions and reflect on the results based on the different variables.
Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States. It began as a tribute to fallen DEA special agent Enrique Camerena in 1985. According to the United States DEA, Red Ribbon Week is the nations largest and longest-running drug awareness and prevention program. Red Ribbon Week began after the kidnapping, torture, and murder of DEA agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena in 1985. After the men were found murdered, citizens in Camarena's hometown of Calexico, California donned red ribbons in his honor. The red ribbon became their symbol for prevention in order to reduce the demand of illegal drugs. California Congressman Duncan Hunter and teacher David Dhillon launched "Camarena Clubs" in California high schools. “Camerana Club” was later recognized as Red Ribbon Week.
Ms. Nichols' class learned about solar system and about the individual planets. After learning about stars and constellations, they were instructed to make a diagram of our solar system, and present it to the class. They really put time and effort into this partner project.
