8th Grade Promotion will be May 13th

This year the 7th grade class has done a wonderful job completing classes and getting ready for next year as they will be the leaders in the middle school. As a reward for their hard work and dedication Mrs. May and Ms. Beezley accompanied the 7th grade class to the Rollerrama for a fun day of skating. It was a great day of bonding and celebrating a year of hard work.

The 8th grade class went to the Henry Doorly Zoo and spent time experiencing the desert dome, observing the plants and animals after they have read the novel Deathwatch by Robb White, a thriller that has its setting in the Mojave Desert. While in the Desert Dome, they viewed some common snakes found in the desert and related that to the scene in the Harry Potter the Sorcerer's Stone novel that they read earlier in the year, where Harry Potter talks to the snake through the glass. It was a fun educational day and the students really enjoyed their trip.

The Middle Student Council volunteered at the Sioux City Animal Rescue. They taught all about the different services the shelter provides, along with a tour, and an opportunity to work with the animals. The students did a fabulous job. Ms. Beezley and Mrs. Nieman are beyond proud of the positive way the students represented the school and their community.

Showing up for school has a huge impact on a student’s academic success starting in kindergarten and continuing through high school. Families play a key role in making sure students get to school safely every day and understand why attendance is so important for success.

Juniors and seniors were recently invited to go to Haskell college and learn about how they can continue being successful.

The school is well represented at the JAG legislative day!
