Greetings!  We want to take this opportunity to update the public regarding the current COVID-19 status at Umonhon Nation Public School as of 9/28/2020.  Please be assured that we continue to work closely with our school nurse, Linda Calvillo, Carl T. Curtis, and the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department. Linda is in constant contact and reports all staff cases with the health center and consults with them on isolation and quarantine. We diligently follow the contact tracing guidelines for self-monitoring and quarantine in an effort to stop/slow the spread of transmission. If we find through the contract tracing that you or your child have been in contact with someone who has tested positive, the school will contact you immediately. We have every reason to believe the extra safety precautions we have instituted are working well, as our risk dial has remained in the Yellow or moderate risk.  While the confidentiality and safety of our students and staff is of critical importance, it is important for the public to know we have a small number of staff and students who are currently under self-monitor/quarantine.  We currently have 1 staff confirmed positive case and 7 individuals who have been asked to self-monitor/quarantine simply as a safety precaution, 2 staff and 5 students.  If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact the school for further information. Mr. Adrian Saunsoci was honored with a surprise graduation celebration for achieving his Bachelor's degree. He gave an inspiring speech to students encouraging them that it's never too late to reach a goal. The Academy staff is grateful for the care and wisdom Mr. Saunsoci shares with our students.
