Student's in our J.A.G. program were able to get outside last week and start preparing the outdoor garden. The traditional method of planting blue corn, beans and squash will be taught as a lesson plan. This combination of plants is referred to as three sisters as they support one another's growth.

Good Morning! We just wanted to touch base with you regarding a public announcement that was just released from the Winnebago Public Health Department confirming that one positive case of COVID-19 B.1.1.7 (UK Variant) has been detected in the community of Winnebago. This is a mutated strain of the corona virus and is known to spread quicker and be deadlier than other COVID-19 variants. It is important for all UNPS students and parents to understand that our risk dial remains in the yellow range and that no cases of this variant have been reported in the community of Macy. UNPS will continue to follow all CDC guidelines and keep all safety precautions, including handwashing, sanitizing classrooms, requiring masks and social distancing, in place for the remainder of the school year. At this time 80% of the UNPS staff has completed both rounds of the COVID -19 vaccine, with others slotted to receive it in the near future. As you can see with the data provided in the attached picture, the Moderna Vaccine has the same efficacy on the new COVID-19 B.1.1.7 strain as the original COVID-19 strain. We are very confident in our safety procedures and believe that face-to-face instruction remains by far the best option for our students at this time.

FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE!
