I’m an enrolled member of Umoⁿhoⁿ Nation and belong to the Koⁿze Clan. I’m the School Family Liaison for the Umoⁿhoⁿ Nation Public School’s Against the Current Career Academy. I look forward to getting to know you and your parents/guardians and assisting you on your journey to accomplishing your academic and career goals.

Students will explore interests, abilities and aptitudes and how they relate to various career pathways offered at the Against the Current Career Academy. Students will do self- assessments, research the type of education or training needed for one of the six Career Pathways and how to accomplish their goals.

We will cover the following topics:

  • Self/Needs Assessment

  • Career Pathway Options

  • Building an Academic Foundation (counselor, career coordinator, school family liaison, parents, academic achievements and vocational skills)

  • Employment Tools (documents, resumé building, gaining job and work experience, and job shadowing)

  • Research (site tours, etc.)

After several weeks of self-assessments, research and discussion students will choose a career pathway that there is a personal interest in learning more about. I will meet with students once a month and parents/guardians quarterly. I will be available for students and parents/guardians for any help or questions.
