Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,

This afternoon we were made aware of a bomb threat directed at the school. The person making the threat stated that it would occur tomorrow. The administration immediately contacted law enforcement and collaborated with them during the investigation.  We conducted a thorough search of the school building, inside and out, including book bags, lockers, and other compartment areas within the building.  We have narrowed the investigation down given the time and location of the message, and we do not believe there is any ongoing threat at this time.  If you or your student knows any information about the threat, please provide it to me or to law enforcement as soon as possible.

We plan to conduct classes and activities as usual tomorrow.  However, out of an abundance of caution we will be using enhanced security measures.  Please help us by notifying your student(s) that we will be checking backpacks and won't be allowing any students to carry things around in backpacks for the rest of the week.  We also want to respect your decisions about your students' safety.  If you would like to keep your student(s) home from school tomorrow, we will excuse the absence as long as you notify the school in the morning.  We will work with all students who are excused tomorrow and work with those students to make up any missed work and assignments they may have.

In the meantime, if you have a student struggling with today's events, please contact me.  We will be available and will have counselors available to assist students in dealing with these difficult issues.

Thank you for your assistance and cooperation.
