Improvements at UNPS

Here at Omaha Nation we have good news around our school. I'll tell you about how our school is improving and becoming better.

First, we have gotten less strict with our school. What I mean by that is we have gotten rid of unnecessary rules that we didn't need. We have gotten rid of the planners, which I didn't feel were necessary for the school, and also the no phone rule. I'm glad we got the phone rule because the only thing I like to do is listen to music on my phone and play my games on it.

Second, we repainted the school. I like how our school is becoming more and more artistic and colorful, and not so boring and plain. We have repainted the gymnasium and also put big Umonhon signage above the bleachers and it looks amazing. We also painted the staircase all black, which is pretty decent, and added furniture to the school, the student lounge, which is more amazing. It feels like a school and not so boring to come to.

Last, we have some new teachers. Most of the middle and elementary students got new teachers. I haven't met all of them, but I'm looking forward to it. High school got a couple new teachers, some of whom used to work here, and we also got a new principal. His name is Mr. Tarman and he is a pretty cool principal. Our school is changing, but it's much better.

This is the Chief news and what’s new here at Omaha Nation.
