Mr. Dustin Lovejoy wanted to share a story from the Hedewachi celebration:

On Sunday, as I walked toward the east entrance of the Huthuga to fulfill my last day of tail dancing I stopped to view a few craft items in the midway area of the Hedewachi grounds. I heard my name called to my left hand side, I noticed a young man with a huge smile on his face as he reached out to me with a handshake.

I had noticed this young man was wearing a regalia I was familiar with, he expressed to me this "new to him" regalia was gifted to him by Mr. Todd Ike, Omaha Tribe member (champion mens grass dancer). As I expressed how happy I was for him and how proud of him I was I said Darrell wear this regalia proudly, thank you for sharing this with me. I felt humbled and blessed for this young man sharing his story with me.

Thank you my brother Todd Ike for gifting Darrell Blackbird III this regalia. I know you have gifted other young men regalia because you felt it in your heart.

Darrell Blackbird III is a middle school student at the Omaha Nation Public School, he is a member of The White Eagle Club and will serve as the head boy dancer at this years White Eagle Club 3rd Annual Powwow.

Wibthahaho,

Dustin Lovejoy
